Terms of use

The ground rules for using Graymalkin Lane during our pilot, in plain words.

πŸ“ Draft, under legal review. It describes how the pilot works today in plain words; the final version may change.

Who can use it

Accounts are for parents and guardians (18 or older). You can add your own children and invite other adults to your family. You're responsible for your account, your password, and the PINs you give your kids.

The pilot

  • Graymalkin Lane is free while it's in pilot. We'll tell you before that changes, and nothing is charged unless you choose a plan.
  • Features may change as we learn. We'll try hard not to lose anything you've recorded.
  • Your feedback helps. If you send us ideas, we may use them without owing anything for them.

What it is, and isn't

Graymalkin Lane is a learning tool. It suggests what to work on and keeps records, but you remain your child's teacher and are responsible for meeting your state's homeschool requirements. We work hard on accuracy, but questions, lessons, and AI feedback can contain mistakes. Please report anything that looks wrong.

Using it fairly

  • Use it for your family's learning, not to copy or resell our questions and lessons.
  • Don't try to break, overload, or get around the security of the service.
  • Don't upload anything harmful or anything you don't have the right to share.

Your content

What you and your kids create (answers, writing, logs) is yours. You give us permission to store and process it only to run the service for you, as described in our privacy policy.

Our content

Questions, lessons, pictures, and the Graymalkin character are ours; linked outside resources belong to their owners. You can print worksheets and reports for your family's use.

Ending things

You can stop anytime and delete your family from the dashboard. We may suspend accounts that misuse the service. If we ever shut the service down, we'll give notice so you can save your records.

The legal bits

The service is provided β€œas is” during the pilot. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us (currently nothing). These terms are governed by the laws of Colorado.
