About
Built by a homeschool family, for homeschool families
We wanted one thing we couldn't find: a clear answer to βwhat does my kid actually know?β, and a short path from there to what's next.
Why it exists
Grade levels are a rough guess. A child can be two years ahead in multiplication and quietly missing one fraction idea from third grade that makes every ratio problem feel impossible. Most tools either drill the whole grade again or race ahead on top of the gap.
Graymalkin Lane looks underneath. A short, adaptive check maps what's solid and what's missing, skill by skill, then builds a small weekly plan: fill the real gaps, keep climbing where they're ready, and come back to things just before they fade.
Why a cat?
Graymalkin is the old name for a gray cat. Cats are curious, patient, and never in a hurry to be told where to go. That felt right for a lane where every kid walks at their own pace.
What we believe
Five principles we don't bend
Never locked at a level
Learn the idea, not the answer
Fewer, better questions

Honest about AI
How it's made
Every question is checked before a kid sees it
Content is the product, so we're fussy about it.
- 1
Mapped to standards
Common Core for math and reading, NGSS for science, Colorado Academic Standards for social studies, with the skills each one builds on.
- 2
Solved blind
A separate checker answers every question without the key. Disagreements get fixed before anything ships.
- 3
Read cold
A reviewer reads each question as a student at that grade would: is it clear what to do, and what a right answer looks like?
- 4
Approved and reported
Math changes wait for a person's approval. Kids and parents can flag any question in one tap.
