Civics: rules, fairness, and helping out (kindergarten)

Rules help us stay safe and be fair. We help each other, take turns, and vote.

Why we have rules

💡 Rules keep us safe and help us get along.

Rules tell us what to do. They keep us safe.

A stop sign is a rule for cars. It says stop.

Rules make games fair. Then they are more fun.

🧠 How to think about it

Think of a rule. Ask: how does it help? "Hold hands to cross the street" keeps kids safe.

🏡 Try it at home

Take a walk. Look for signs. Talk about what each sign tells people to do.
