Characters and setting

💡 Know who is in the story and where it happens.

Talk about a show you like. Who is in it? Where does it happen?

💡 Details are small facts that answer who, what, and why.

The answer is in the words. Go back and look.

Find a key word from the question. Read the lines near it.

After a story, ask one why question. Look back in the book together.

The lesson is what the character learns. Mole learns to say hello.

Retell a story with your fingers: one for each part. Then name the lesson.

💡 Pictures can show how a character feels.

Look at the face. Are the eyes shut? Is there a smile?

Faces show feelings like sleepy, happy, or mad.

Make faces for happy, sleepy, and mad. Guess each other's feeling.
